TRAINING: Targeted Violence Lethality Assessment Protocol (TV-LAP)
DATE & TIME: Monday, July 27, 2026
LOCATION: Hutto Police Department Training Room 401 W. Front St., Hutto, TX 78634
Please join us for a 2-hour training on the Targeted Violence Lethality Assessment Protocol (TV-LAP), a brief 12-question screening tool for law enforcement officers and co-responders to use when they are called to a scene or situation where someone is engaging in threatening in communications or behavior. The TV-LAP provides an efficient and consistent process for conducting an initial investigation in the case, and the results may lead responders to recommend a WAVR-21, SIVRA-35, full threat assessment, or legal measures (e.g., warrant, arrest). The results also provide baseline information in case there is a second or third contact with the individual.
The TV-LAP was developed by a team of researchers, law enforcement officers, and mental health clinicians, and it's been vetted by the U.S. Secret Service's National Threat Assessment Center. Dr. Sarah Goodrum, Research Professor in the Prevention Science Program at the University of Colorado Boulder, will deliver the training.
